Rogue Leveling for World of Warcraft: Reaching Level 10:
Part 1
All this being said, we are here to help you reach level 10
as a Rogue the first day you play. Granted, the time that it
takes to get there can be anywhere from 4 to 6 hours by
yourself, but if others are helping you it could be a lot
quicker. There has always been an ongoing debate as to whether
or not you should quest alone. This is due to the amount of XP
you gain working alone as opposed to having a higher level help
you. Below you will find the true answer as well as one of the
quickest ways to level up in no time.
Your Starting Point
Doing our own case study we decided to try out a new Rogue
as a Gnome. This means you will start your quest in Coldridge
Valley near Ironforge. If you look straight ahead when the
journey begins you will see an exclamation point hovering over
Sten Stoutarm who is seeking
8 pieces of Tough Wolf Meat. After you kill about 7 wolves you
will reach level 2. In the meantime you will recover around 5
Tough Wolf Meat, so your quest is almost finished. This takes
about 4 minutes.
Level 2 to 3
By the time you kill enough wolves to get all the TWM you
need, you will be about 5 bars into level 2. Remember, you only
need 900 XP to reach level 3, so when you complete your quest
you will get an additional 80 XP, plus some new gloves (make
sure to put all the armor that dropped on you). The next two
quests are the Encrypted Memorandum and the Coldridge Valley
Mail Delivery. Except them both and you can complete them
together.
Both of these just require you to run to someone else. The
Encrypted Memorandum sends you to Anvilmar which is a little
area where you find the Rogue trainer (Solm Hargin). Completing
this quest will give you a minuscule 40 XP, but it is easy
experience for a few steps away from good ol Sten. Oh and if
you want to save a little more time, do not try and gain new
Rogue trainings there, because they will not be available.
Next you will travel to Talin Keeneye who is located in the
middle of Coldridge Valley. This is who you need to meet for
the Coldridge Valley Mail Delivery. After you give him the
Stack of Letters you will gain 190 XP. There is an extension to
this quest asking you to deliver another piece of mail to
Grelin Whitebeard. However, you should also accept The Boar
Hunter quest as well so you can start killing the Small Crag
Boars. By the time you kill about 7 of them you should be at
level 3.
Level 3 to 4
Finishing off the Small Crag Boars will give you about 58 to
60 XP a piece. So this should garner a good 300 XP overall once
you reach 12 of them. As you make your way back to Talin
Keeneye and complete the quest, he will give you an additional
250 XP. This should put you about 8 bars into level 3, on your
way to level 4. There are no more quests with TK, so start
making your way to Grelin to deliver more mail. It is only 171
yards away.
Once you reach him you will receive a quick 270 XP, plus 7
copper. Since Rogues rely on their energy sources and have
quick regeneration, you should not have to find repairs yet,
which will save time as well. Grelin will hand you another
quest we recommend accepting which is The Troll Cave. Here you
must kill 14 Frostmane Troll Whelps, which are only 67 yards
away. Just turn around and there will be a ton of them waiting
for you. Each one of these will give you around 60 to 63 XP and
by the time you kill 10 of them you should have moved up to a
level 4.
Level 4 to 5
Now that you have killed all 14 of your Frostmane Troll
Whelps it is time to make your way back to Whitebeard.
Completing this quest gives you 360 XP and should put you a
little over 6 bars closer to level 5. Grelin will now have
another quest for you to work on called; The Stolen Journal.
Here you must kill Griknir the Cold. However, before you run
off, look for Nori Pridedrift who is right there around the
Whitebeard. This is a time limit quest in which you only have
five minutes to head back to Anvilmar and deliver Scalding
Mornbrew to Durnan Furcutter.
We suggest you do this one first and not forget about it or
the quest will fail and you will have to run back to get it
again. When you get there he will give you 230 XP which is
nice. He also has a quest that just requires you to take the
mug you brought back to Nori Pridedrift. Go ahead and do this
before you find Griknir the Cold.
On your way out of Anvilmar you will see Felix Whitebolt. He
also has a quest for you called; A Refugees Quandary. Go ahead
and accept it then head back to Nori Pridedrift. By just
returning the mug you will receive an additional 450 XP, which
should put you around 1350 of the 2100 you need to reach level
5. Now that you are here, you might as well work on the Felix
Whitebolt quest since it is only 119 yards away to the Bucket
of Bolts.
You will only have to defeat one Frostmane Troll Whelp to
recover the bolts. However, when you head to the next area for
the chest you will have to fight off four, which you can do one
at a time. Finally, when you the box you will only have to kill
2 FTW in order to recover it. Keep in mind the XP for killing
them are anywhere from 58 to 65. So when you head back to
Anvilmar to complete the quest with Whitebolt, you should have
just over 1800 XP. Completing this quest gives you 250 XP,
meaning that you need to go back out and kill one more animal
or Whelp and you will reach level 5.
Working on 5 to 10
If you do everything we showed you above in the exact same
order you can reach level 5 within an hour. Do not forget you
still have Griknir the Cold to complete as well, which we did
not continue with in this article. One of the biggest reasons
it takes individuals so long to level is because they get
caught up in everything else. It does not matter if it is a
trainer, a weapon smith, or anything that looks new, all of
them take more time off your hands.
Now, there are various ways to reach level 5 as a Rogue then
just doing what we did here. If you go out and kill a ton of
creatures, animals, or any other enemies this can work quickly
as well. However, the bigger XP comes from being able to
complete quests. Just make sure they are not too far away or
you will wind up doing more running as opposed to accomplishing
your goals. Do not forget, we have much more information to
share with you on reaching level 70 as a Rogue in no time at
all.
