World of Warcraft: Friend Helps For Faster
Leveling!
Despite its aging graphics engine, and game
mechanics that have been done before, and done to death since,
the World of Warcraft still manages to attract new players in
droves. Entire groups of people have begun to play, grown up,
and left the game behind as a hallmark of their past, while
younger generations come of age and begin to play the game in
their place. They are interested in the sheer size of it
all.
The level of community and the opportunity to truly meld into a
gigantic free-roaming world of power and mystery can draw in
many people from many different walks of life. Of course, there
are still those who will not be attracted by anything an online
video game has to offer, but in terms of the masses, people are
almost universally attracted by something that is just so
unimaginably popular. Therefore, it should be said that one
should never be afraid to step forward and try to experience
the splendor of what has grown from a simple and well-marketed
online game to a global phenomenon.
Even as someone who has not been there to see all the amazing
changes that have taken place over the years, the World of
Warcraft offers unprecedented scale and its future is just as
bright, promising change and growth for years to come. Any
realm the player chooses to enter is filled with danger and
delight, and, most importantly, the social freedom to play,
fight and cooperate with other people with whom one may never
have met otherwise.
Though it is not a complicated world, and though it is not so
overwhelming that players cannot grasp it, it is important to
remember that the World of Warcraft takes some getting used to
if the player has never experienced an online multiplayer role
playing game. What makes the World of Warcraft so attractive is
the depth of the choices that player can make upon creation of
his character and throughout the avatars growth.
In fact, World of Warcraft is all about growth, and the team at
blizzard has specifically designed and modified the game to
promote rapid and satisfying character growth. One of the most
important and effective methods of ensuring swift level gains
is the referral system. Blizzard has allowed players and
prospective players to collude in the effort to bring more
players into the realm, and drive a more satisfying experience
for those new players who want to join their higher-level
friends.
The referral system allows a new player to enter the name of
the existing player that was responsible for bringing him into
the game, and as a reward, both players are granted a whopping
triple experience points bonus, along with a special mount for
the higher level player in the shape of a zebra. Characters
love to spend hours trekking across the world on this highly
prized zebra ride, and both players can garner an amazingly
fast leveling experience with almost no wasted time.
Furthermore, the higher level player can be granted extra free
levels by the new player every time the new player gains two
levels. This system ensures that the referrer and the referee
will work together to promote teamwork and to get the newer
player caught up to his friends as swiftly as possible.
The reason for this combined effort to get players to gain
higher levels so quickly is to allow players to access the real
meat of the game. The World of Warcraft is built upon the
simple mechanic of exploration and quest completion. The whole
business of playing the game is the cycle of finding and
completing quests, and though monsters and enemies found in the
world do grant experience when killed, the real source of
experience comes from the quests that players can complete in
almost any place at any time.
In order for the quests to stay fun, all the players involved
must be around the same level, otherwise the quest can be far
too easy or far too hard. Whats more, the best and most fun
quests are massive undertakings called raids, during which
throngs of players get together in a small army to take on
incredibly difficult enemies. These kinds of quests are not
available until near or at the end of the games content, also
referred to as end game content.
If players are allowed to swiftly and efficiently level up to
the point at which they can participate in these raids, or even
in player-versus-player combat, hereafter referred to as PVP,
then the more players will have the satisfying experience of
enjoying the most fun parts of the game for the most amount of
time. The truest goal of such a seemingly unending game is the
triumph of a fallen legendary monster, and a completed
quest.
In the mean time, new players should busy themselves with
efficiently passing through the game and sticking to the most
enjoyable environments and challenging quests. If the player
does not have access to the referral system or any friends that
play World of Warcraft, the life of the soloist awaits, and
friends are to be made through co-operation and social bonding.
Another one of the more important mechanics of World of
Warcraft that is good for newer players is the ease of playing
solo.
Players in this game do not have to spend hours waiting around
for other players to join them. Instead, they can select a
quest and get right into the action, since the quests
themselves are actually quite beatable with a single character,
so long as that character plays to his strengths and fights
smarter, not harder. A character can have a great deal of fun
playing solo right up until level 20 or so, and can gain some
wonderful rewards in the process.
In Addition, while out in the world, the game gives each player
the option to choose a crafting skill and a related harvesting
skill that allows him to gather items and valuable materials as
he quests. The best one of all of these myriad skills to choose
is Leatherworking, since it gives the player the ability to use
animal skins to make leather goods, which sell for a hefty sum
on the games markets. A ready availability of money and
experience points awaits any player that follows these simple
guidelines, so please, enjoy the quests!
